Description
Established in 1808, Ushaw College
and Conference Centre rests undisturbed within 30 acres of traditional
Durham countryside and offers the ideal retreat from the rush of
everyday life.
Since its opening, Ushaw's prime purpose has been the formation of Roman Catholic priests for the North of England.
More
recently we are welcoming an increasingly diverse range of clientele
who see Ushaw as the perfect place to hold conferences of any kind and
as a home base for visiting the surrounding area. Durham City, with the Cathedral, Castle and many other buildings of historic interest, is just a few minutes away by car.
The College is also within easy travelling distance of a range of other local attractions.
Visitors
appreciate the facilities themselves, but also the sense of space,
tranquility and detachment offered by the setting. We often hear
appreciation of our ethos and the service offered by our staff.
There are four major conference rooms, a range of meeting and lecture rooms and a 270 seat lecture theatre.
Standard teaching aids such as projectors, flipcharts, TV, Video and DVD are available by arrangement.
Internet access (both wired and wireless) is available throughout the Conference Centre and bedrooms. Ushaw has a well established and resourced Conference Centre available for the use of all types of groups throughout the year.
The Conference Centre contains 130 bedrooms, with a choice of en-suite or standard facilities. |
