The main university campus provides conference facilities for up to 479
delegates. In addtion there is a large selection of lecture theatres,
seminar rooms and meeting rooms which can be used for a wide variety of
events. The University's facilities are available for
residential and day meetings during the summer vacations, but non
residential meetings and events can be arranged during term time, at
weekends and evenings throughout the year.
Availability
The
University's meeting and conference rooms, with or without meals, are
available for hire throughout the year, in the evenings and at
weekends. During weekdays in term time we only have a limited capacity
for external bookings on our main campus.
Throughout
the summer however - from the beginning of June until early September -
we are able to accommodate residential conferences and weekday
meetings.
The Harris Park Conference
Centre on Garstang Road, Preston is not used for mainstream academic
teaching purposes and may be hired for private functions and small (up
to 120) non-residential events, seven days a week all year round.

Meeting Rooms
We offer a wide range of
teaching and non-teaching meeting rooms for groups of between 15-60,
all complemented by a full audio-visual service, where delegates can
hold informal discussions, study groups and workshops. All rooms are
equipped with an ohp, screen and whiteboard.
Lecture Theatres
We
offer a range of purpose-built lecture theatres, all complemented by a
full audio-visual ervice. New developments include the Harrington
Lecture Theatre, a prestigious and state-of-the-art conference facility
with a capacity of 479 in tiered seating.
Operation of all the audio visual equipment
in this particular theatre is controlled from a projection room at the
rear of the theatre (apart from the ohp), which means a technician must
be present if such equipment is to be used.
A
new high quality venue Greenbank Lecture Theatre opened in October
1998. This has a capacity of 200 in fixed tiered seating, with
additional seminar rooms.
With a capacity of 200 with comfortable tiered seating, this room is fully equipped with all the latest audio visual eqipment.
This lecture theatre is an ideal venue for AGM's, company presentations and Conference Plenary Sessions.
Specialist Rooms
We offer a number of specialist rooms for example language labs and computer rooms. Exhibition Areas
A number of foyers around the campus including the Arts Centre and Harris Park Conference Centre are available for
exhibition purposes.
Video Conferencing Suite
This facility allows connections to other video conferencing services enabling national and international meetings to be held.
Two video conferencing systems are available:
The GPT Focus 400 Suite, can accommodate up to 8 people (depending on room configuration).

We have a range of rooms of varying sizes suitable for these and other purposes.
