Once an opulent private home, Holmewood Hall now provides an impressive backdrop for the conferences and special occasions, with a unique brand of hospitality. Holmewood Hall is an enchanting Victorian mansion house, set among fourteen acres of parkland in the picturesque village of Holme. The Hall is still a focal point in the community, as it was over a hundred years ago when villagers worked on the estate.
The Hall has been sensitively restored by present owners British Sugar plc, who have been careful to preserve its original features. The interior is studded with historic details such as ornate marble and carved fireplaces, a grand staircase, and oak panelling throughout. At almost every turn, you are presented with views over formal gardens with sweeping lawns and mature trees, leading on to a vista of meadows and open countryside.
Although the Hall has not been home to a family for some years, it provides a very personal ambience to the many delegates and guests who visit throughout the year. There’s a sense of relaxation and tranquillity, combined with the passage of time – but the house has by no means become a museum piece.
Unlike some venues, Holmewood Hall prefers to tailor hospitality to your needs, rather than offer ‘off the shelf” packages. To this end, we place emphasis on helping you create an individual experience.
Whether you are organising an event for 200 or 40, we take a flexible approach to accommodate your requirements wherever possible. Our professional and friendly team will work closely with you to arrange a successful event down to the last detail.

Whatever your catering requirements, our team of chefs offer freshly prepared dishes to suite every palate and budget; from a working lunch or buffet served in one of our dining rooms, to an early start breakfast meeting or an evening meal to put the final touches to your event.
The Hall boasts a selection of generously sized ‘syndicate’ rooms for focused workshops or meetings, many of which are oak panelled with views over the gardens. However, the highlights of the house are without doubt its premier conference rooms on the ground floor.
